Does an EOR need to be located in the same state or country as the workers?
No. An EOR does not need a physical presence in each jurisdiction to employ workers there. Workwell North America has direct EOR infrastructure across all 50 states, Canadian provinces, and 150+ countries globally.
How is an EOR different from a staffing agency?
A staffing agency sources and places workers. An EOR employs them legally on your behalf. You identify the talent. Workwell becomes the employer of record, absorbing the legal, payroll, and compliance responsibility. The two are separate functions.
Do workers receive benefits through Workwell?
Yes. We offer ACA-compliant healthcare benefits to all eligible workers. Eligible workers are those that work full-time with an average schedule of 30 hours per week.
How is this different from a PEO?
A PEO creates a co-employment arrangement where both you and the PEO share legal employer responsibility. An EOR is the sole legal employer, which means your company is not a co-employer. For multi-state or international programs where compliance risk is highest, this distinction carries significant legal weight.
Are there any setup, implementation, or minimum fees?
