Talient, Workwell North America’s vendor management platform (VMS), has been redeveloping its front end over the past few years, replacing the outdated Ember.js framework with React and Next.js alongside Material UI. What on earth does that mean? This means Talient’s new interface moves faster and delivers features more quickly than the legacy version. The new version will be made available to all Talient users on September 30, 2026. In the meantime, users can see the new design by clicking on ‘Try New Look‘ in the platform.
While the platform will feel cleaner and more modern, existing configurations, customizations, and data in Talient will not be impacted in any way.
As Workwell’s contingent workforce programs have grown, so has what people need from the software running with them: bigger client rosters, bigger supplier networks, more people across HR and procurement logging in every day. This rebuild reflects how Workwell is investing in its own platform to keep pace with its business growth.
Allison Swartout has led Talient's product team through the rebuild from the start.
“After working hand in hand with our clients and suppliers for more than 10 years, we knew it was time to upgrade our user interface,” Swartout said. “This is about more than a new look—we needed a stronger front-end foundation that could move as quickly as our clients’ programs are growing.”
Owning your own tech and managing it directly has its advantages. Our team hears live feedback from users, so we can build a platform with their needs at the forefront.
Here’s what’s changing, and why it’s worth paying attention to.
Dashboards that do the sorting for you
Dashboards are now arranged according to your role. A Client Admin sees different priorities than someone with department-level access, and items needing action (requisitions, approvals, adjustments) sit right up front with one-click approvals built in. Signing off on something now just takes “select all” and approve.”
Suppliers are also getting an upgrade with two new sections, Items Pending Your Review and Items Pending Client Review, making it clear at a glance what relates to you and what is in someone else’s queue. Moreover, a new Assignments Nearing End view highlights assignments that are about to expire within 7-, 14-, 30-, and 60-day periods. This gives suppliers the clarity they need and helps prevent tasks from suddenly appearing on already full schedules.
Reporting that doesn’t involve a spreadsheet and a prayer
Advanced Reporting is live! Clients can access a real library of ready-made reports covering financial, talent, and supplier data, including interactive charts and the ability to export them with a single click to CSV or Excel. This feature is built on data pipelines that refresh in near real time, so the data you see reflects what’s happening now rather than what happened the last time an export ran.
Onboarding you can see
The tab that used to be called ‘Workers’ is now called ‘Assignments’, and each entry leads to a dedicated page with tabs for Details, Timesheets, Expenses & Fees, Documents, and Onboarding.

Document status and approval state now appear directly in the user interface rather than staying in someone’s inbox, and a new Documents Overlay lets users review attached files without leaving the page. We think that bulk onboarding approvals shouldn’t require users to click through each one individually.
Work from any device
The interface is now fully functional on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices, so you can check a timesheet or an assignment from any device, anywhere.
What isn’t changing
Even though the launch features a new appearance and includes some new capabilities, your existing data, settings, and user history will remain unchanged. Nothing will be migrated, reset, or lost between now and September 30. The features you depend on every day will still be available; the only difference is that you can access them in fewer clicks.
You can use the ‘Try New Look’ button right away within Talient if you’d like to see a preview before going live. Training materials and in-app guidance will be introduced over the coming weeks, and an in-app survey will be available if you’d like to share feedback before launch day. In the meantime, please direct your questions to your normal Talient or Workwell contact.
